Mr. Hill is the co-founder and current president of Emergency Services Rescue Training, Inc. (ESRT, Inc.) which is a 501(c)3 not for profit company incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. In this role he develops, delivers and evaluates training programs dealing with agricultural andother industrial related emergencies for emergency responders and site workers and other community members. The emphasis of these training programs deal with management of trauma and fire emergencies related to farm other industrial sites. He consults nationally with other groups and organizations on farm emergency response issues and program development and implementation. He also consults widely across PA and nationally on issues related to silo fires. He is asked to write many articles and give many presentations related to agricultural related trauma and fire emergencies to emergency response groups, farm organizations and media outlets. Mr. Hill is currently employed full time with The Pennsylvania State University where he works as a Senior Extension Associate in the Agricultural Safety and Health Program. There he directs the Managing Agricultural Emergencies program throughout Pennsylvania. Mr. Hill also led in the development of the first nationally standardized curriculum for agricultural rescue as director of the FARMEDIC program prior to his coming to Pennsylvania. This effort led to the training of over 300 national instructors for the FARMEDIC program under a national rural health outreach grant from Health and Human Services during the 1990’s.
Robert J. Schultz
Mr. Schultz has been a resident of Frankenmuth Township, Michigan for the past 25 years. He retired after 25 years as a career Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician for the Buena Vista Fire Department and holds degrees in Emergency Medical Technician and Fire Science. Mr. Schultz is currently the Owner of Michigan Fire and Corporate Medical Education LLC. He is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician Instructor-Coordinator, certified Michigan Fire Fighter Training Council instructor and Executive Board member of Michigan Rural Emergency Medical Services Network.
Wayne Bauer
Mr. Bauer grew up on a diversified farm operation in Michigan and went on to graduate with a degree in Ag Mechanization from M.S.U. He has worked in a variety of management positions during the past 43 years. Wayne initiated the formation of the Grain Entrapment Prevention initiative in 1999 and served as the International President of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society with 2,600+ members in 18 countries in 2004/05. He is very involved with a variety of Emergency Response groups and serves on various Food Protection and Security committees, such as: (Co-Ch) of the Michigan Ag & Food Protection Strategy Committee and Agro-terrorism-Prevention & Facility Security Committee. He is currently Director of Safety & Security for Star of the West Milling Co with facilities in: North Dakota, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio & New York.
Carol Jones, PhD, PE
Dr Jones grew up on a farm in northwest Oklahoma. She has a BS and Phd in Ag Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Her expertise is in the equipment for handling and storing agricultural products and the processes involved in maintaining ag products in good condition through proper handling and storage. She is also employed now as an associate professor in Biosystems and Ag Engineering at Oklahoma State University. Her research focus is on grain quality through storage and handling, grain bin forces and modeling and the design of equipment for grain bin safety and rescue. She writes articles for journals and magazines, provides workshops on grain quality preservation and storage, safety, and grain bin entrapment rescue. She also owns and manages a consulting company CL Jones Consulting, LLC, that provides engineering expertise and expert witness services for the grain handling industry.
